Zygolex for Schools

How it works

Registering

  1. When you choose ‘Register your school’, you will be taken to PuzzleSales, a site owned by us, through which you are able to pay safely.
  2. Because you need a back office to monitor the children’s progress, in the first instance you need to choose one ‘Zygolex for Schools initial pack of 20 logins’ at £25. This is £1 per login (per child) plus an extra one-off payment of £5 for the teacher’s monitoring area. Extra packs of ten logins can be purchased at £10 each; just £1 per child.
  3. Payment is made through the PuzzleSales site. If you are lucky enough to be one of the first ten users to register, your first 20 logins and back office will be free.
  4. Advice of your registration will be seen by our office and we will send you a login list. This will comprise of one teacher login and twenty pupil logins (or more, if you have purchased more).
  5. Each child login offers ten Mini Zygolex (a starter puzzle with one answer in each) and 40 Mandala Zygolex (a bigger puzzle with 15 answers in each). The puzzle content is the same for every child. The ten Mini Zygolex are available to redo every time a child logs in, as a refresher if necessary. The remaining 40, bigger puzzles, can each be done once per login.
  6. The teacher login enables the teacher to do the puzzles in the same way as the children. There is a ’Scores’ tab allowing the teacher to view the children’s scores and how many puzzles they have attempted. There is also a handy label printing tab allowing the teacher to print labels of the logins for each child’s exercise book in case they should forget their password.

Using Zygolex for Schools in the classroom

Using a large monitor a teacher may guide a class of pupils through a puzzle using their own teacher login. All the children need is a screen that will run a browser and their own personal login.

Children can work in groups to solve a puzzle together; this will help children who need assistance to get started. This, more casual approach, means that friendship groups can work together.

Puzzles can be solved in the home environment too, all the child needs is a computer or tablet with a browser. This means Zygolex can be set as homework or done for fun with the family at home.
